1. APPLICATION
By using our services you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions which may change from time to time without notice.
2. PAYMENT TERMS
a. Pricing: All quoted prices are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax and are subject to change without notice.
b. Payment: All invoices must be paid at time of drop off and prior to collection of garments or as otherwise directed by us and we reserve the right to retain your goods until payment in full is received.
c. Contract of service: Your docket given at time of drop in is your contract of services with us. If you disagree with any item or price, this must be addressed prior to leaving the garments in our care and before you leaving the store. There is no cooling off period once you have left the store.
d. Discounts: Our 10% bulk order discount applies only on orders to the value of $100 or more or on the discretion of management. No further discounts will apply. From time to time we offer vouchers to local charities. We will not honor out of date vouchers. This website on occasion will advertise specials. These are bound by terms and conditions and expire as advertised.
e. Reward Points Program: All orders placed and paid generate reward store points at at rate of two points per dollar. These points turn into credits as discounts on future orders. We reserve the right to add to, change, cancel or remove individual reward points or Reward Points Program at any time. Reward points may be redeemed by Macedon Ranges Dry Cleaners as up-charging if we deem an item has been undercharged. Credit points will not be accepted as discount/payments on retail purchases.
3. COLLECTION OF GARMENTS
a. Delays: Whilst we shall make every possible effort to process garments within the prescribed time-frame, we shall not be liable for delays. These are unavoidable.
b. Unpaid orders: Orders left in our care for more than 4 weeks (28 days) will incur a $3.00 surcharge/storage fee and $1.00 for each month or part of thereafter. We will make every attempt to contact the order owner for collection.
c. Abandoned goods: In the event that garments are not collected within 12 months (52 Weeks) we reserve the right to dispose of them in any way that is fair to recover any costs and we shall not be held liable for any loss that you may suffer in such an event.
4. CARE FOR GARMENTS
a. Care label: To protect your garments, we follow the Care Label instructions on each item we process. If you request garment treatment which is contradictory to that indicated on the Care Label, you will be required to sign a "Waiver/Consent to proceed form". If during the cleaning process, we deem an alternative treatment is required that contradicts the care label, we will make an attempt to contact you and advise you of the potential risks associated with proceeding with the treatment, and will take a verbal reply as an agreement. If we are unable to gain your informed approval to proceed, we shall refrain from cleaning the garment in question. If you authorize us to proceed, you must assume responsibility for any damage to the garments.
We accept no liability for garments or furnishings that have missing or removed Care Labels. All textiles manufactured in Australia MUST carry a care label under Federal law act AS/NZS 1957:1998.
b. Pre Check: We inspect garments for any damage at the counter and explain the risk of potential further damage that could be exacerbated by the laundering/wetclean/dry-cleaning process. If we discover any damage or have any concerns regarding a garment prior to processing, we will make an attempt to contact you and obtain your approval ahead of cleaning it. If we are unable to gain your approval, we shall refrain from cleaning the garment in question. Likewise, if we have any concern about the colour fastness, age, or condition of the garment, we will contact you in a similar fashion to obtain your approval, or return the garment to you untreated.
5. SAFE CLEANING GUARANTEE
We offer a safe cleaning guarantee. This means we will process every garment we accept safely and according to care label instructions or as agreed by the customer. This does not mean we will remove every stain from every garment. If it is our professional opinion that stain removal will be unsafe, or will compromise our safe cleaning guarantee, stain removal efforts will cease.
6. DAMAGE
a. We exercise utmost care in cleaning and processing garments entrusted to us and use such processes which, in our opinion, are best suited to the nature and conditions of each individual garment. Nevertheless, we cannot assume responsibility for inherent weaknesses or defects in materials, fabrics, trims or attachments.
In dry-cleaning, wet cleaning and laundering we cannot guarantee against colour loss, colour bleeding, and shrinkage; or against damage to weak and tender fabrics, or damage from objects (biros, blades etc) left in pockets. Items with attached beads, sequin, hand-painted or printed embellishments are dry cleaned solely at customers risk. Damage to, but not limited to bonded fabrics, zips, buttons, threads, tears, pulls, trims, leather and suede trim, metal attachments, hems and seams etc caused during the dry cleaning process are deemed beyond our control and therefore we will not be held responsible.
b. Special Conditions: are not limited to the following items and can change at any time.
i) Curtains - Curtains and rubber backings can suffer from daily use, predominately sun fading and deterioration which may result in tears or the development of small holes in fabric and coatings that are not readily apparent prior to processing. Any damage caused during cleaning is deemed beyond our control and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for any damage and will refuse any claim. Curtains are cleaned and processed at customer risk.
ii) Second hand items - Processing of a Second hand item is solely at the owners risk and will not be covered under any claim, regardless of age, value or condition.
iii) Suede and Leather - Given the delicate nature of some leathers and suedes, all leather and suede garments are cleaned entirely at your own risk, and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for any damage or fading as a result of the dry-cleaning process.
iv) Aged items - Items over the age of 24 months will not be covered under any claim, regardless of condition, value, number of times worn and/or cleaned.
v) Bags & Hats - Will be cleaned at the customers risk and we will not be held responsible for any damage that may occur during cleaning.
vi) No care labels - Items that do not have attached care labels or labels that are illegible will be cleaned at the customers risk, and we will not be held liable for any damage that may occur during cleaning.
vii) Misc items - if we feel that an item does not fall into general category or we have concerns about potential issues that may arise during cleaning, the processing of the item will become the responsibly of the owner and we will not be held accountable for any possible damage that may occur during cleaning.
viii) Bonded fabrics - we will not accept liability for any damage to bonded fabrics including garments with interfacings. Some bonded fabrics can change structure during cleaning causing detachment, resulting in a 'bubbled' appearance. Such damage is caused from poor manufacturing.
c. Personal items While we check every pocket of every piece, some items can remain hidden. Any items left in pockets or linings that cause damage to garments, either your own or another's in the dry cleaning process will be deemed beyond our control and therefore we will not be held responsible.
d. Our liability with respect to any damage or loss to an item by human error and is caused by us, either accidental or without intent, and cannot be rectified or repaired, shall not exceed ten (10) times our charge for cleaning that item regardless of brand or condition and is capped according to replacement cost as described according to the fair claims guide (see below) and is not covered in 6b. special conditions (above). No claims for damages will be recognized unless you advise us of same within twenty four (24) hours of collecting the items.

7. LOSS OF GARMENTS
Please carefully check your order on pickup and address any discrepancy immediately.
We exercise utmost care in processing garments received to avoid misplacement or loss of items. However, there will be instances where items may get misplaced or lost. As such, we ask that you advise us of any discrepancy within 24 hours of picking up your order so that we may investigate the matter as a matter of urgency and make a determination. Please see 6d. above for additional conditions.
Side note: Too many times we are contacted and advised a customer has not received an item, only later to apologize as they have found it. PLEASE thoroughly check your storage areas before contact which causes us much stress and undue use of precious time.
8. PERSONAL ITEMS
Whilst we endeavor to check all pockets, the customer is responsible for making sure items are ready for cleaning. Please check all of your garments for money, jewellery or other valuables prior to depositing them with us. If we find any valuables in your garments, we will make every effort to safely store and return them to you, but we cannot be held liable for any loss of such articles that are in our care. Small change will be placed in our 'donations' jar and given to a charity of our choice. Rubbish, masks and handkerchiefs etc will be disposed of.
Any valuables found in the dry cleaning machine will be held for 30 day only. On the 31st day, we deem the item to be the property on Macedon Ranges Dry Cleaners and any further recovery or ownership by the customer is forfeited as abandoned goods.
We will not be held responsible for any item left in pockets that causes damage to yours and/or other client garments or items. Please refer to item 6.
9. RE-CLEANING
We inspect every garment before returning them to you to ensure that they meet our strict quality measures. If by chance a stain was overlooked we will happily re-clean the item, provided it has not left the store, or is returned to us unworn and within 24 hours. We will make every attempt to remove stains where possible, and will cease treatment if we deem a risk of potential damage to your garment. Please refer to item 6.
10. PRIVACY
We will use your customer information in the regular course of providing services to you. We respect your privacy and warrant that any information you give us will be held with the utmost care and security, and will not be used in ways to which you have not consented.
Providing us with correct and up to date personal information allows us to better serve you by (1) contacting you about any issues which may arise during the handling of your garments; (2) emailing/mailing/sms messaging and for special promotional materials; and (3) processing your credit card payments.
11. JURISDICTION
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria and the parties shall submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Victoria.
Whilst we take every possible care with your treasured items, we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused in the dry cleaning process. This includes but not limited to trims, zips, buttons etc.
